KILL THEM ALL!!!!!!!!!
Sweet Jesus, that is one huge collection! Very impressive if I might add.
Too cool!!! That is spectacular!
That was bigger than I was imagining! Everything looks so uniform. That must take time to put up all the new stuff. That is a serious collection! It's funny that something that stood out to me is how big that JLA classified Martian Manhunter is. What do you do about dust? That must be so crazy to maintain. I love to see all that DC love with the highlight on The Sub-Mariner...hahaha. That poster is really cool. Namor is one of my top Marvel characters, but I gotta give DC all my love too. How long have you been collecting?
Well Grisle, funny you should ask. Que flash back in 5......4......3........., It was the day of the 1st TF movie toy release, (June 2 06 if memory serves me correct), when I ran in to this dude in the toy isle. & his eyes were just beaming with delight at all the new cool TF that were on the pegs. As he & I moved amung the pegs & secured all the Target exclusives that were out, we got to talking. After about an hour or so we said our good by's & went out seperate ways. Well.....low & behold we ran in to each other again across the highway in the local TRU. Well to be exact the TRU had not opened yet & because I don't have a car (how the hell do you think I can afford to blow $400.00 a month on toys lol), well because I didn't have a car & the store was still closed I was standing out side in the summer heat. dude offered to let me wait in his very cool Nissan mini van. & as you can tell from my pic that I'm a big boy & can handel my self quite well. & dude was only half my size, so if he tried to get fresh with me i'd simply pound his ass in to ground round & leave him with his head leaning on the horn of his stearing wheel...........oh yeah, i'd also run back real quick & snatch his wallet LMAO!.........WHAT, all's fair in love, toy collecting & defending your selffrom sexual assult. Any who. After a day of driveing around to all the local hot spots hunting for toys we exchanged numbers & a few weeks later I went over to his house. PEOLPE!!!! I TELL YOU NO LIE. this man's collection dwarfed mine (which at the time was in its infantcy) by 100x over! & TFs were just the tip of his ice burge! he had one of the animatronic teddy bears used in the Speigleburg movie A.I. & also one of the lighting Gizmo props used in Gremlims. the list just went on & on & on & on. But the center pice of his collection was mos def his DC stuff......you name it he had it. He then droped a bomb shell on me that kinda explained how he was able to have such a freakin huge photo animation cell (approx 3ftX 3ft) brb
KILL THEM ALL!!!!!!!!!
sorry about that, but I do quite a bit of pposting & web surfing from my PDA. I'm on the bus right now headed in to work (gotta get $$$ to gether for the next 2 DCD waves coming out the 26th). So where was I. oh right! so my new friend clues me in on a secreat as to how he can afford a huge ass photo animation cell that would have cost no less than $2,500.00 in any collector shop, AND......how the hell he was able to get it signed by the President of WB & all the VP's too. Turns out.........HE DREW THE DAMN THING HIM SELF!!!!! Yes my friends......yours truly.....SUPREMEQUEEN.........was standing in the home of a former DC animator!!!!!! I'm telling you I could have died!!!!! Now before you ask, I'm sorry, but will not say his name out of resect to his privacy. but I can tell you he was one of the animators that worked on the Batman animated series & also Batman Beyond. Well Grisle.......after basking in this man's DC toy collection I was TOTALY INFECTED! I knew what I had to do. So on a day trip to Philadelphia (i live in NJ), I stopped in to a Suncoast Video where I bought my very 1st DCD figure.......Batman Dark Victory. Well 3 years & 30K later here I sit. Queen of my own DC toy Empire! So that's the story of how I got in to collecting DC.
KILL THEM ALL!!!!!!!!!
Great story SQ! It must have been awesome to meet a Bats animation guy and to see his personal collection! Why don't you post your collection pics directly here? (Easier for people to see them). Your collection is kick butt, and one of the best DC figure collections I have ever seen!
That story is funny. I like how you immediately thought we would think he might be trying to get fresh just cause he offered to let you wait in his car...HAHA. That is a cool story. Sometimes other people collection can most definitely infect you. So you say you spent about 30k over the last 3 years!? That's crazy. I'm constantly defended DC against all the Marvel Nuthuggers out there that think DC can't hold a candle in comparison only to find out they've never even read anything DC. So I gotta say I love seeing all that DC stuff. Oh and by the way all you have to do from photobucket is go to the share this image box and copy the one that says IMG code and then paste that here.
So you met one of the animators huh...that's really cool. It must've been a surprise since you don't run into those type of people everyday. I'm looking forward to seeing more of the collection.
ok my room mates cam is on the blink, so im gonna try taking some new pic of the new stuff i got and try up loading it to photobucket. here goes nothing.
KILL THEM ALL!!!!!!!!!
yeah i know the pics suck but its all i got to work with till i get a new dig cam.
KILL THEM ALL!!!!!!!!!
SQ, you have a freakin cool collection man! my apartment would look somethin like that if i didnt keep my figures in storage. im really tryin to find the pictures i took of some my stuff before i gave them the "Pyramid Treatment" and sealed it away.
"If an eye for an eye will make the world go blind...then learn the damn Braille system."
thanks for the words of suport every one, and ash, dont remind me about the space issue lol. But I've already started dreaming up some methods for adhearing them to my celing (with out damaging the card). My room mate has been a good sport about my "take over" of the hall ways in our apt (we like to call them "The Halls of Justice"), but he kinda drew the line at his Martial Arts displays LOL.
KILL THEM ALL!!!!!!!!!
