this books looks original and cool. do you know if this is similar to Maus? i had the Maus book years ago... but i just didnt like, that they made the cats nazis...haha. cats arent pack animals...

I don't know about Maus, honestly that is a new one on me... The art alone in this book makes me want to buy it so bad! I will definitely be looking for this one... I know Attakus has some statues based on this, and honestly I didn't even know it was a comic until I got the news about this today!

Anyway if Blacksad is a black cat in a trenchcoat, it's a great series.

I have vol 1-3

Blacksad is not like Maus.


Vol 1 is about Blacksads old flame being killed and he's going for her killer.

Vol 2 has a racial Ku Klux Clan theme.

Vol 3 has a realy interesting detective story. A real classic "who's the killer" type of story.

The story and art go hand in hand.

I am so far. I got to start this one right away because it is in my boyfriend's extensive comic book collection. I noticed right off how each group gets a specific animal to represent them and I'm starting to wonder what the significance is of Polish non-jews being pigs. I get the cat (nazis) and mouse (jews). But pigs? Thoughts?
