Default The sequel to The Dark Knight, might just happen!

Yahoo had this to say :

    "DC and Marvel Do Battle

    by Mike Krumboltz

    February 10, 2010

Holy blockbuster, Batman! A buzzy article from the New York Times revealed that director Christopher Nolan is hard at work on another flick.
Of course, it's not like this is a huge surprise. There was no way Hollywood wasn't going to make a sequel to the "The Dark Knight," the third-highest-grossing movie of all time. Still, Nolan's participation will likely cause a huge sigh of relief among moviegoers. Remember when, back in the '90s, director Joel Schumacher replaced Tim Burton and nearly killed the franchise?
The forthcoming blockbuster (not yet titled) also illustrates the escalating battle between Warner Bros. -- which produces many movies based on DC Comics, including "Batman" -- and Disney, which recently acquired DC's biggest rival, Marvel Comics.
Indeed, both studios have a slew of superhero flicks coming soon to theaters. In the New York Times article, it's revealed that "Wonder Woman" and "The Flash," both longtime favorites from DC, are "expected to (be) announced" in the coming months. Additionally, DC's "The Green Lantern," starring Ryan Reynolds as the hero and Blake Lively as his lovely love interest, is scheduled for a 2011 release. There's even a rumor that Mr. Nolan may supervise the development of a "Superman" reboot.
Clearly DC has a lot of irons in the fire. But Marvel isn't surrendering the cineplex anytime soon. Not only does Sony's forthcoming "Spider-Man" reboot have a hot director at the helm (Mark Webb of "500 Days of Summer"), it'll also come to theaters in 3D. Barring any delays, the flick, which will focus on Spider-Man's high school trials and tribulations, will spin its way onto the big screen in 2012.
What's that, Marvel superfan? Can't want that long? No problem; "Iron Man 2" has you covered. Paramount's sequel to the surprise 2008 hit starring Robert Downey Jr. lands in theaters this summer and already has a sizable following in Search. Over the past month, online queries on the film are among Yahoo's top 3,000. Additionally, Web interest in the trailer shows no signs of slowing down. Kind of like the war between DC and Marvel."

well lets just hope that it does come to be, im hopin that they use the Riddler next, and its the same actors again, no substitutes, and its Johnny Depp as Edward Nigma. i want to see Catwoman too, but for now a movie with the Riddler seems more interestin to me, than one about Catwoman. i have a feelin that if Catwoman gets thrown in, the Nolan/Goyer franchise might lose its edge, because it might turn into some romantic garbage.....somethin that the Nolan/Goyer franchise hasnt been milkin like every other movie does..... sht even Transformers 2007 tried to shove romance down the throats of fans.... come on, its a scifi movie about aliens who can transform into vehicles and other things..... do we really need romance in a movie like that????...... anyway i hope that the sequel to the Dark Knight, dubbed "Gotham City" on some website gets made.

I would love to see the Black Mask as a villain in the next movie.

Black Mask if done right would be awesome, I would love to see Goyer/Nolan's version. But there are a lot of awesome Bat-villains I would love to see done by Goyer/Nolan, they could probably make Killer Moth and Kite Man cool....

I definately think Batman's villains are the greatest in all of comics. There are so many to choose from.

Part of me actually wants to see a lesser known, maybe even campy villain thrown into the Nolan-verse with a darker, more serious take.

anyone of those villains that you guys named (except maybe Kite Man, because he sounds like somethin out of Mega Man), would be great in a movie... Bats does have the best collection of rogues, they are usually mobsters, psychos and monsters, but usally mobsters and psychos.... and some are all three.....ie the Joker, Two-face, Wesker etc. what could you expect, Bruce is himself psychotic, just do the math...."emotionally scared billionare" + "dresses up like bat, every night" + "throw in his borderline personality disorder and paranoid personality disorder" = "institutionalized", in the real world.... yea, Bruce is a package deal.....what seperates him from them is that he does good, but thats it. Bats and his villains are two sides of the same coin. i would like to see Solomon Grundy in a live action movie, but only if it could work, and not look too CG. he could be put in a Green Lantern movie or whatever. as for a campy villain how about Egghead hahahahhaha.

i agree and i also would like to see it. but with the sudden Pacino Scarface boom of the 2000's, those that dont know about Wesker or the comics, will probably asume that its about Tony Montana instead.... but then again, i think theres enough rappers ridin Tony Montana's nuts, for them to confuse the Montana and Arnold Wesker's Scarface.

hahahaha nah probably not..... Maxie is the kind of guy thats only good, for gettin the better known villains thier coffee....or for a Caligula remake. i think King Tut might have more of a chance....and i cant take Tut seriously after what i saw him do in the 60's tv version...
