Thread: DCUC Impressive in the new year!

    Default DCUC Impressive in the new year!

    I'm impressed so far this year, (somewhat). I went into my local TRU and they had the entire wave 11 set. WOW! I didn't get any cause I ordered the set through Matty, but I wasn't impressed with the price TRU was charging anyway. $25.99 per figure! That's more then LCS prices. Ridiculous. Then I went into another local TRU earlier this week and they had all the new DCUC Infinite figures. These I did pick up, (especially the Blue Beetle, Ashley). Hopefully this means what Mattel said about getting the figures "out there" is true. If something can just be done about the prices now. Ordering the figs through Matty, doing the currency conversion and including shipping it's cheaper to get them through Matty. It just takes so damn long...... Still haven't got my Animal man / B'wanna Beast yet.

    I love Animal Man--they did a great job on him. B'Wana Beast was well done as well, though I'm guessing he made himself a Chimera with a mannequin because he has no nipples...oh well!

    Well if Joel Schumacher ever makes a "Bw'anna Beast" movie, he'll get his nipples.

    $25 per figure???? wow...Toys R US might startin to get into, the extortion racket.... if its cheaper through matty, i would just get it directly from the manufacturer, which is matty even if it would take awhile to get. i always do the samethin with my Capcom games, i get them directly from them, and its cheaper than the store for me.

    that and probably bring out his femenine side.... i have nothin against Schumacher, afterall he made "the Lost Boys" and "Falling Down" (one of my most favorite movies of all time). but its just when he made the Batman movies, they were a little too "LOGO" i think.... lets keep the Nolan-Goyer Batman formula, all balls and without nipples. now see, if they want to put nipples only on the female costumes, then im all for that hahahaha.

    That's not a typo Ashley, $25.99. I didn't even notice the price, cause I wasn't going to get them anyway, (unless I came across a variant Deadman), until my wife said "I would kill you if you spent $25.99 on that many figures just after Christmas". Fellas I got to tell you I feared for my life for a second or two.

    Haha, that's understandable! I don't think I'd collect DCUC at $25 a figure. It's a great line and all, but $25 for Killer Moth, Dr. Impossible, or the Shark? No way!

    Got my wave 11 today, gotta say I'm impressed. Love Kilowog and John Stewart is pretty sweet too.
    Even better I got the variant phasing Deadman.

    Where'd you get them? I thought Deadman was awesome, though I wasn't too interested in the phasing variant. Kilowog is one of the best C&Cs ever--he's massive! I got word that my Wave 12 will be here Wednesday--I can't wait!

    This week on a work trip I did find (and pick up) Power Girl, Robotman, and Forager. I also just secured Man-Bat on eBay... Now to pick up Beast Boy and Joker to complete Imperiex....

    I was actually impressed with the Imperiex C+C. I wasn't going to keep it, because quite frankly I thought him a lame character, but the Horseman did some nice work on the fig. I'm looking forward to Darkseid and Trigon. The Ultra-Humanite looks a little small to me when I see it with regular figures, such as on the Toyfare cover. I hope he's the same size as Grodd. On that point do we still call him "Gorilla Grodd" or just "Grodd" now. I always thought calling him "Gorilla Grodd" was kind of dumb. It's quite obvious he's a Gorilla, that would be like calling someone "Human Steve". I'm not Steve, I'm HUMAN STEVE Bwah-ha-ha!

    @Ashley
    I saw a Beast Boy at a Wal-Mart last night, do you want me to see if I can pick him up for you? I should be able to get back there tomorrow.

    @Game
    I think when you're first introduced to him, like at a party, you call him Gorilla Grodd, but after that. when he's down with you, you can just call him Grodd. :)

    I think the Ultra-Humanite will be Grodd-sized, as I've heard they're reusing the forearms from the Grodd C&C. He looked small because I think all the figures were the 12" prototypes--they'll all be shrunk to 6", but U-H will be 10" or so. I put up a Darkseid review in the blog section--he's slowly growing on me after a bit of disappointment. I agree that Trigon looks surprisingly good--it looks like he has a cloth cape! I imagine it'll be plastic by the time he's produced, though.

    I heard a rumor that once you get to know Grodd he likes to be called "Vanessa" cause it "makes him feel pretty".
