    Default Doug's Closet O' Treasures-figures/vintage collectibles/toys...

My buddy from Houston visited me last year and took a bunch of photos in my studio...which I had never gotten around to doing yet. I'm 55, so I have been collecting for quite a while (and have a lot of interests). Here's the link:

That's the body of the Ideal Robin hand puppet (I guess that's what you are seeing). Batman came with cloth or vinyl body, Robin I have only seen with the vinyl 'body' that your hand goes into. Sears had an exclusive Joker HP that is very valuable (don't have one).

I have a Spidey and two Capt. America ones that came out at the same time (and Superman). The eBay Spidey seller neglected to mention that the seams had split and someone sewed his vinyl body around the edges back together with a sewing machine! He did give me a partial refund. I took out the thread and carefully glued it with vinyl repair glue.

It amazes me how some folks don't think MAJOR flaws are worthy of mention...as some things are obviously not the way the originally were. "I thought that's maybe the way it was supposed to be" or "I didn't notice that." Yeah...

I collect comic books (but don't actively seek out my wants much at all in the last several years), Beatles, action figures, toys, some monster stuff, some lunchboxes & thermoses and lots of baby Boomer era stuff.

I sold all of my original Capt. action stuff in the late 70's, but have a few things I've gotten from eBay or lucked out and found. Still want the Playing Mantis PHANTOM outfit without having to pay $30+. They were on clearance at many Kay-Bee Toys, but ours never got that set.

Used to collect records and still have a lot...again I rarely seek out many record wants anymore. I was glad CD's came along since I really care more to hear the music without pops and noise. Have a lot of CD's and burn many of my own compilations or rarities.

I TRY to sell of some of the stuff I don't care much about anymore or trade and did sell some duplicate stuffed dolls recently. I rarely go to garage sales now since I hate to be too overflowing and my wife hates for me to take up too much closet space in other rooms.

i know what you mean, they only see what they want to see.... offcorse alot of those guys on ebay leave out major flaw stuff, cause they just want to get rid of it, in exchange for the dough that they are askin for. i bet if those same guys get thier payment late, they would sure think "its worthy of mention" to paypal, about the late payment...... but aside from action figures, i collect bunch of stuff. im also a music collector, i usually try to get the albums that i like on Vinyl, but only to keep them factory sealed....i get the cd albums for use. i also collect fur felt fedora hats (been doin it since i was younger), rare to find non-fiction books, video games (from 1980s video games to present), offcorse comic books, i used to collect baseball cards when i was a kid, i still have a few rookie cards from guys that are "known" now. i also had the overflowin problem in my apartment and now have to keep my stuff in storage. its nice to see some of the older guys on the website, that collect just as much as the younger guys.
