Justice League International series 2 review

OK, well I got mine yesterday and for the most part I'm very happy with them. I'm happy to report that yours truly SUPREMEQUEEN got all 4 figs 2 DC lead figs and magazine (Night wing and Batgirl) and the 3rd issue of Blackest Night all for $50.00, (connections baby.....connections) .

Any way here's my lil review: Martian Manhunter, (or maybe I should say John Merrick aka "The Elephant Man") JESUS H. CHRIST did they ever make dudes head big as hell. It like when ever I look at him on my wall, I'm half way expecting him to suddenly burst out screaming......"I AM NOT AN ANIMAL"!!!!!!! But hey, the guy is a shape shifter so even his "traditional look" is a damn lie if you catch my drift. And one you get passed his Beluga Wale head he not so bad and really cool. Plus the Oreo cookie totally make the figure worth having. Now if you tell any of my fellow flamers that I said this I'll deny it, but they did go over board on the thighs mussels. Maybe all the mussels for that matter. He's so top heavy that they had to fill in and make the cuffing of his boots a solid plastic to give the fig counter balance so he could stand on his own with out a stand.

Fire: 1st let me say I don't mind the new name of Fire as apposed to Green Flame . Far as I'm concerned its all the same. Now when I was selecting my Fire, some of the pit falls I had to look out for was hair attachment. Some of the Fire figs had their sculpted hair off to the side and not quite attached right. But once I found a good one I was very happy!! DCD is slowly getting better at the whole "hips cocked to the side pose" thing. Some times the women come out looking like they have Scoliosis of the Spine, but here it works rather well for the sculpt of the figure, but still there's room for improvement. That and the fact Miss Thang got some serious B.A.T's (big, ass, tities)! Plus I'm happy they gave her a nice pair of high heel boots.

OK, next is Blue Beetle: THIS FIGURE IS THE SH*#!!!! I am totally loving the extreamly viberant colors and texture of the fig (well visual texture that is, I'm MOC). This BB looks as if he simply got up and walked right the pages of the comics! RARELY have I ever seen such a flawless paint app in all my collecting years! Ash I can't wait to hear your take on this latest installment of your fav hero. Now for the bad. When selecting your BB, BE EXTRA CAREFUL with the eyes and goggles!! All but one of the 4 BB's that were on the pegs had a malformed left eye, or a goggle lens about to pop off. But I was able to find one who's left eye only had a very slight lazy eyelid. and even then you had to strain to see it pass the goggles. But I must point out that DCD REALLY DROPPED THE BALL, by not giving Ted his gun.....WTF! Still, I love this fig.

last but not least, Booster Gold: DITTO FOR EVERY THING I JUST SAID GOOD AND BAD FOR BB!! But the major disappointment here was WHERE THE HELL IS SKEETS?!?!? No gun for BB, and no Skeets for BG . Also your either gonna love or hate BG's big ol cheese grin. I like it:). Other wise both are a serious credit to DC Direct!

I will probably pick mine up next year (on sale) because I don't have the cash for them right now. Skeets was never in an issue of JLI that I am aware of.

im having a weeee bit of trouble with that crazy photobucket. something about not enough memory. all I have on the thing are the pics you guys have seen of my collection so far. I think there trying to shake me down for a paid subscription. Maybe when my homie comes over tomorrow he'll load up my pic thread with all the new stuff I've gotten.

Nope the Gun didn't appear either, that I can think of right now. It was just Beetle and Booster. There may have been a passing reference to Beetle's gun (I think his gun was the butt of a joke) :)

I'm pretty sure the gun did show up in the series. These figures don't impress me as much as the first wave. IMO the DCUC figures are better, especially Beetle. I haven't bought any DCD product since they canceled the Minimate line. I'm tempted to purchase the odd Blackest Night figure, though I really don't want to go against my DCD Boycott. I wish DCUC were coming out with some of the BN figures.

Because they ended the DC Minimates line of figures which were selling well, and eventually came out with these pieces of plastic sh.. ,uh crap, called blammoids. Look how well the Marvel minimates are doing and just imagine what could have been. I'm just sick and tired of the junk DCD puts out, and not finishing sets. I bought pretty well every figure they were putting out until that point. That is also why I am customizing my own DC minimates, (though I've been very lazy about it lately).

I've got my JLA done and my silver age Titans, just gotta do my JSA, new Titans and Legion for starters. Also want to work on the Flash Rogues and Secret Society. Maybe after I pig out tomorrow for Thanksgiving I'll get back into it.

Sorry DG, I can't promise I won't eat too much, in fact I plan on it. I love the whole Turkey spread so much that we even celebrate American Thanksgiving. The holiday is actually tomorrow but we are celebrating today, that way I get the football too.
