Stuff I Like!

When the news (click here for the news) came down yesterday I was ecstatic! I couldn't believe I was going to be reading new comics with my favorite characters of all time in it! I had been reading comics about 8 years before the Justice League #1 debuted but, that comic changed everything for me!

There was laughter, fun, adventure, and intrigue all rolled up in one comic. This was something that I had not found in a comic before. The art was what really pulled me in though. Kevin Maguire was the absolute perfect artist for this series. His knack for expressions matched Giffen and DeMatties's wit perfectly!

In my opinion it is one of the greatest runs in comic book history. The books always take me back in time, before comics were gritty and dirty. There is nothing wrong with comics today, I just like to take a break from today's comics every now and then. I will usually read through the run once a year.

Yesterday's news brings great excitement for me. The past few years have seen DC take my Justice League and tear them down. Max Lord - turned out to be the evil mastermind behind the OMACS. Blue Beetle - killed trying to stop Max. Elongated Man and Sue Dibney - killed. Captain Atom - turned evil. Martian Manhunter - dead killed during Final Crisis. We all know that dead doesn't mean forever in the world of comics but, I was scared it would be a long time before my favorite characters would resurface.

Now we will get to see them again, in all their glory. The 26 issue bi-weekly series will be a big welcome back to the limelight for the best Justice League ever. I just hope that it will recapture some of the spark that the original series had. If it comes just a tad close it will be better than most series on the shelf today.
